Did you wife ever find anything to alleviate her insomnia? I have lupus myself and I am taking Ambien pretty much every night for my insomnia (with the okay from my rheumatologist). It has really worked for me. I'd prefer not to take it as often as I do but when I decide not to take it, I'm up all night and the cycle of crashing and mood swings starts for me. I really feel for your wife.
