Off to UCLA again

We’re heading down to UCLA again to see Jenny’s rheumatologist. It’s always a tough trip. (It’s four hours down and four hours back up for an hour appointment.) We hope that since Jenny had all those tests done, they will tell us something we didn’t know already.

I hope that all of the tests and MRIs actually got sent up to UCLA like we requested. It’s never been done on time. It always ends up that we make the requests weeks in advance and nothing ever gets sent to the rheumatologist, who is the only one of Jenny’s doctors that I trust.

  1. Update: This was a fairly normal visit. The imaging center failed to send a report to UCLA even though we handed them the address and requested it be done. New problems with no solutions for the old problems.

  2. Hi there,

Hope her appt goes well, We drive 2 1/2 hours for my rhemo appt too

Sometimes I think it would be easier to get on a merry go round for a week then deal with doctors.

I went to see mine complaining about my energy leavel and he had no answers. Hmmm… Just another damn lupus side affect.

My primary ran a blood test for Thyroid problems, Like i need that. The medical assistant had no idea how to drawn blood from someone in a wheelchair, I tried to explain to her just put a pillow under my arm. But she decided she knew better. So she proceeds to put my arm up on a examination table on a pillow. Then proceeds to poke and prode my arm and puts a bandage on that I had to rip off because I was allergic to. My arm still hurts and ended up infected.

  3. That is terrible. Why not trust the experience of the patient that obviously knows what’s going on? Jenny always comes back from blood tests with bruises for days.
